Only a couple weeks left to have our voices heard in a hopes to Save Bala Falls and the heritage that the falls carry.
Both the Canadian federal and Ontario provincial governments are not honouring their commitments. The government has proposed a new Hydro-electric Generating Station at the Bala Falls.
This would convert not only a scenic sets of falls, but would also destroy natural habitat, forests, fisheries, and tourism. The Bala Falls is a primarily connection between Lake Muskoka, and Georgian Bay as well as a summer landmark for visitors to the area.

Drone Video of the Bala Falls with commentary of expected changes. The center island between the north and south Ball Falls is where the proposed Hydro-electric generator plant will sit.
The recreational swimming in the north falls would cease to exist, because the new hydro electric station would reduce the upstream run off to a trickle. While converting the downstream flow’s currents and undertows too intense for swimming. With these increased dangers the government would effectively erect six to eight foot high fencing around the entire area making both set of falls inaccessible.
