Florida Woman maybe forced to Comply to City Regulations for Face Consequences
Robin Speronis found not guilty on two of three alleged Cape Coral city code violations at hearing in her fight to live off the grid. Speronis will likely continue to fight for her rights to live free, and off the grid despite the city’s attempts to make her plug in to city utility services.
Robin Speronis has been living in her Cape Coral home without city supplied water or electricity for close to two years as reported by NBC-2. She has been utilizing solar panels and filter water via a homemade rain catcher solution. Because of this self-relevancy she has never had to pay for either electric or water bills.
This past Thursday the city determined that she was guilty of not being hooked up to an approved water supply system. In turn, she would need to comply with city regulations and start using city water within 30 day of this ruling or face consequences.
